IN EMERGENCY DIAL 999, FOR ALL OTHER ISSUES DIAL 101 AND YOU WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO THE CORRECT AREA.  ALL CALLS ARE NOW RECORDED AND EACH CRIME RECORDED RECEIVES A CALL BACK TO ARRANGE FOR A POLICE OFFICER TO VISIT AND TAKE INFORMATION.  NO CRIME NUMBER WILL NOW BE ISSUED UNTIL SUCH TIME AS A VISIT HAS TAKEN PLACE.

If you have any problems contacting the police or getting them to arrange a meeting, please let us know as we are currently monitoring the new police package.

COMMUNITY BROADBAND

The parish council was successful in securing a grant from KCC for the provision of broadband to “not spots” in the outlying districts and to increase speeds for those in the village.  Call Flow have been appointed to undertake a mixture of sub loop unbundling and wireless connections and anticipate this project taking between 3 to 5 months to complete. While they build the solution, they will post updates on their new information web-site at www.crockenhillbroadband.com. In due course, this will give all the information needed i.e. from understanding the options through to ordering the service.

Call Flow will place the equipment that normally resides in the BT exchange much closer to the Crockenhill community. This means that the loss of broadband speed due to the distance from the    exchange is greatly reduced. As such, the vast  majority of Crockenhill residents will  be able to  receive speeds in excess of 10Mbps, with many getting between 15 to 20Mbps if they decide to change from their current provider to Call Flow!

LOCAL BUSINESS DIRECTORY

The Council is looking to set up a local business/services directory on its web site.  This will not be a recommendation, purely for information to try and encourage people to use local businesses.

If you would like to be included on this list, please email or post the following information, together with a copy of a utilities bill to show your address in Crockenhill:  Full name and address together with your contact telephone number and email address, name of your company/business, nature of your business and a list of services provided (no more than 50 words please).  Please feel free to add a link to your own website. If you have a company logo in jpeg I will try and include this.

A caveat will be added saying "The Council is not responsible for the work undertaken by those listed below nor for the content of external Internet sites.  Their inclusion on the site is not a recommendation by the council of any goods or services but is a list of local people providing services in the village.    If it is brought to the council's attention that any link, whether directly or indirectly, is to a web site that contains information considered by the parish council to be offensive and/or derogatory, it will be immediately removed. The parish council reserves the right to have the final say on what information appears on its web site."
