Biodiversity

Crockenhill and Biodiversity

Crockenhill Parish Council acknowledges the importance of preserving and enhancing biodiversity within our community. We recently adopted a Biodiversity Policy and Action Plan which outline our commitment to safeguarding local ecosystems, promoting biodiversity, and integrating conservation efforts into our decision-making processes.

Please visit the Governance and Finance page to access all policies.

Most importantly, the Parish Council will consider the conservation and promotion of local biodiversity with regard to the management of its open spaces. This includes having effective Tree management and regularly reviewing our Grass cutting regimes to help support initiatives such as No Mow May.

We support the local Crockenhill in Flower Group, the Grow a Healthy Crockenhill & Swanley group and will support the newly formed Crockenhill Gardening Club.

We are supporting the Hedgehog Highways initiative (visit www.hedgehogsrus.co.uk for more information) and have Hedgehog Highways surrounds available for sale - priced at £1.50 each from the Parish Council Office.
