COVID-19, CORONAVIRUS
Update from the Parish Council

The Coronavirus situation is changing daily but the Parish Council is keeping a close eye on events and we will continue to update our website, Facebook page and the Community Facebook page. We would also like to reassure residents that we are here to help where we can.
Our Emergency Plan is already in force. This enables us to make sure that every vulnerable person on our list is contacted, and help and support offered wherever possible. We will continue to check-in on these residents regularly over the coming weeks.
If you know of anyone who may need assistance, perhaps someone who is isolating but does not have a support network locally, please contact the Parish Clerk on clerk@crockenhillpc.org.uk or call 01322 614674. Also, if you think you may be able to volunteer to help residents beyond your own road over the coming weeks/months, please contact the Parish Council so we can co-ordinate help if necessary.
As is often the case with situations like this, it is heartwarming to see how our community pulls together in times of need. Now is the time to exchange numbers with your neighbours and let people know if you are concerned about getting medication, food etc. Whilst the Parish Council will do all it can, we also need to be mindful that the situation is changing daily and the Parish Council has limited capacity. We do not know the impact this will have on our Councillors as yet so let us all make sure that we are building support networks in our own neighbourhoods too. Just a friendly telephone call to a neighbour avoids the risk of spreading infection but ensures that no-one feels alone.
We also need to be mindful that precautions should also be taken when shopping for neighbours. Ensure that hands are washed and sanitizer is used so that the virus is not passed on when handing over groceries. Also, if a neighbour is isolating, it is recommended that the person delivering to them leaves groceries outside to limit contact. Unfortunately, we are aware that scammers have been taking advantage of elderly/vulnerable people so do please do not hand over cash in advance for grocery shopping or anything else unless you are sure that the person helping you is a friendly neighbour. If in any doubt at all, contact the Parish Council office on 01322 614674 and we will try our best to help.
